Jan. 20 - Day Seven

Almost there, tomorrow will mark one week, seven days. So how did you do? How many days did you spend with God? Did you notice a difference in those days? How about prayer times? Did God answer any prayers that you made? For me it is encouraging to look back over the week and see the many things that God showed me. Personally speaking it was a good week to get back into routine, recover from the retreat and continue the long and hard daily grind of following Christ. One thing God taught be was today in Sunday School Nate Albrecht was sharing some insights he saw in Ezekiel 34 about shepherds and sheep. And the one part that God talks about caring for the needy but also breaking the strong. It reminded me that a shepherd sometimes has to brake a sheep's leg in order to keep that sheep from wandering. Sounds kind of harsh but when you think of the other possibilities like a wild animal getting that sheep or it fall off a cliff or wandering so far it never comes back, a simple breaking of the leg keeps that sheep close to the shepherd. A great reminder of brokenness before God. I am sure glad that God can use other believers to share a lesson with me. Thanks Nate!

Gal. 4:21-31
Did you ever just read scriptures and say huh? Lets be honest there are some times that scripture can be confusing and difficult to understand. Don't beat yourself up over it, but talk about it with someone that might have an answer. The story of Hagar and Sarai, is found in Genesis 16 and is a great picture of God's timing verses our timing. If today's reading was difficult to understand then go to Genesis 16 and read about this story, if you have further questions then comment on the blog and I will respond. Hope you start this week out on the right foot.

O.K. ,
here are some statistics for all of you scholars and non-scholars !!!

90% of people pray - but only 10-15 % think that it is actually heard and answered.

That's kind of sad.

Prayer is a very important thing in every individuals life.
We all need to pray - doesn't matter what you look like, where you come from, what religion you are - WE NEED TO PRAY !!!

So, I PRAY that all of you will start( or keep ) praying and also, to believe that God hears you and he will answer you.

I've been praying for something fro 10 months now, and God finally answered it !!!
-- Prayer's being answered can be a while or a short period of time.
--- The prayer itself doesn't even have to be long - it could be one sentence !!!

So, please pray and believe that God will answer you.

Thanks Laney for being the very first one to comment, I think your passion and desire for prayer is awesome. One thing I would have you think about however is the importance of who you pray to. Not all religions are the same. Let me know what you think. Thanks again for being the first, you rock!!!

I have to say that I am to sometimes really wondering about veres and don't really know what they mean. I think that the moment we get what others think about it from others and how they see it then we can really understand it.

But the thing that its been a week is nuts!! I actually want to come through with this one!! I want to see what God has to show me when I read from His word and just listen...Being a talker it will be hard but I think this is something I need to work on because maybe God is trying to show me something but until I listen I won't be able to see it....

Well Pd,

To whom a person is praying to is very very important - I agree.

But with different religions, even though some pray to another ''god'' it's still good for them to pray and I applaud them for that -even if it's to the wrong God.

Praying in general is good. So they at least have that part down.
Now for whom they pray to - they need some work on that.

I guess it's good that they believe that there is a ''god'' even with some people it's not the actual ''god''.

Tell me what you think.

Oh people - pray for me cause next Wednesday I have to get up in front of EVERYONE and talk a little about the importance of prayer.
^ it's for Sunday nights new topic - PRAYER !!!! - -- everyone should come out to it - Pd rocks at what he does, so you should come see/hear him ROCK !!!

Candy,

I definitely go through that sometimes.
Other people's insight on what a verse means definitely helps.

I'll totally be praying for you, and keep strong with the challenge :)
